If he gave a speech like this in 2004 their would be no Obama. Kery would be president and john edwards would be VP. Of course Edwards might be facing a Clinton like scandal. Kerry said in 2004 however "I am John Kerry and I am reporting for duty!!". Then he gave the french salute. I was mad at that moment though because i knew that he was going to lose.

Me too. I proudly voted for Obama this year. I'm 2-1 in my votes for President. In 1996, Clinton easily won re-election. I don't recall voting in 2000. In 2004, Kerry lost. In 2008, Obama won in an electoral college landslide.
