Good guitar-interesting song.Reminds me of "Come A little Bit Closer" by Jay and The Americans. The little cock teaser Felina craved male attention. Our narrator was probably a young man.If he were older and wiser, he never would have come back for Felina. He`d learn Tony Montana`s timeless truism about pussy:"first you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women".No woman is worth dying for. There`s too many other women out there.

Great classic country song. Now its rock N roll with cowboys hats and they think they are playing country music very sad.

Classic western storybook tune. I'm not a country-western fan, but I could listen to this one all day.

You are very welcome. I do remember when it was a hit and the sensitivity of AM radio stations to playing songs over about 3 minutes in length. But this song brought stations, especially country stations, more listenership than they ever had before. I mean, this song was REALLY popular on country AND pop stations. Marty was right not to try and cut it shorter to guarantee play time. It worked out just fine.

Thank you for this!I still think it's so cool that I can pull any song out of my tired old noggin, type"El Paso Marty Robbins" into this YouTube thing and less than two seconds later I can be enjoying the instant gratification of hearing the song.I also enjoyed the lyrics to read while listening and your thoughts on early radio censorship as well as the hacking of songs to make them fit radio and commercials.REF: Billy Joel'sThe Entertainer "cut it down to 3:05"Thanks again. |
