I thought that this song would have been an appropriate song after the Los Angeles riots in 1992. I love this song. I love this album. Peter Tosh was a great artist. His death was senseless and a tragedy to all of us because of the lost music he had still to give us.

Everybody's crying out for peace, none is crying out for justice. I don't want no peace, I want equal rights and justice!

Peter Tosh could be intimidating. He seldom smiled. He was very tall and knew martial arts. He often wore dark sun glasses, hiding his eyes from view. He wrote and spoke his mind. He was jailed for Ganja possession. Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer left the Wailers, in a very public dispute. Peter may have been more militant than Bob Marley. He was not as commercial as Bob, but he had a loyal following. "Equal Rights" is one of his best songs.
