I agree with you, i was let down by their new album, once again they let me down and sold out. Mainstream music sucks and doesnt deserve the hype it reaps

dark... DM was definately hyped by the band and the media as a return to "old school" Metallica (which it isn't), so I can understand that some people might feel deceived. DM being #1 on the Billboard 200 isn't suprising, they've been either #1 or #2 since they changed their sound back in 1991. Just remember that the certification is based on wholesale shipments to all types of retail outlets, not actual retail sales. Metallica is definately a commercial favorite even if the album is subpar.

Did you seriously say that? hahahathe USA and Europe dont even make up 10% of the world's population.And yea, its #1. That's because alot of people buying it expected it to be Metallica, not some rock bullshit. Alot of the people who bought it listen to country, pop, rap, etc... they became so mainstreamed that any Metal fan will agree, their new album is a total sellout album. They probably just did it to make money, instead of doing it because they love to make music.

Nice lyrics! On the new verion he uses a thicker pick (.73mm). He also tunes his guitar into a higher pitch. Plus he has his Dean Signature guitar....

um u did no that Metallicas Death Magnetic album is Number 1 in Europe and the UK and now is the USA, thats like most of the world my friend and its 2008, it isnt dead.

most popular bands arent very rebellious. A few are, like Dethklok, but not many.But actually, MTV did play Metallica, Iron Maiden and Megadeth back when that was the popular music.MTV plays what people like. Right now most of the world are idiots so they play Rap and Hip Hop.
