I wonder why would the dems in congress back then (as always) make it a crime for the US to aide other countries seeking our help to stop foreign invaders? Nicaragua = south America / Cuban-backed Sandinistas = bad AKA communist In short if the democrats in office at that time had not made aiding freedom fighters in south America a crime (they came to the US for help remember) then no diverting of any kind would have to had taken place. In short "Dems are bad ok" ^_^
