Dsouza did not reject evolution a year ago! I am pleasantly surprised to see that he is doing some reading. He needs to do some more research into cosmology/astrophysics and he will see that the same is true there. I see that his "Gap" has gotten a little smaller. LOL. Now the Gap is explain morality using science. Well perhaps it will.

Asking people on the street about questions regarding a scientific nature isn't the brightest thing to do. Most people don't know enough about the subject to answer.Then again, asking a random person on the street anything will usually end up in a poorly constructed answer.

As usual, D'Souza plays the victim card. "It's the evolutionists who are introducing atheism in the classrom" he says. Yet that is completely unsubstantiated by the facts. Ever since Darwin published The Origin of Species, it has been the religious zealots who have been linking the theory of evolution to disbelief and atheism. Similarly, it has been the zealots who have been trying to push the scientific study of evolution out of the classroom ever since the Scopes trial in 1925.

Hi deusphuk. What you say about morals ( ie, being part of our evolution ) is fascintating. That`s just what I was taught in St. Kierans` College, Kilkenny, Ireland when I was training to be a priest there. Well, actually our tutor put it to us that this is how the 10 Commandments arose.

It's really a very interesting question. Do you think parents' opinion isn't important in education of their children or do you think teachers should have freedom to educate the children according to curriculum?I think teachers must respect the parents' point of view and teach the curriculum. I don't think those things are contradictories. The children offer the parents' opinion and that opinion is respectable in a constitutional order.

Oh please, the parents didn't know any better if they actually believe in creationism. Some parents are really dumb, in that case the kid is better off listening to science or other sources of authority.

The respect to the science is very important. But in the education, the parents' opinion should have importance and respecting the beliefs and opinions of the children and parents. |
