Zakir Hussain is AMAZING. If anyone would like to hear some great drum fusion, buy the CD Masters of Percussion. My uncle is actually personal friends with Zakir and has taken tabla lessons from him.

Each of these respected names are special in their respected gharanas (styles or houses). Don't forget Pt. Kumar Bose, the torch bearer of the benaras gharana, also with the sahai family which hails 3 generations back.Ustad Zakir Hussain is most famous and well-known due to his spontaneous style when on stage - he immediately forms a bond with the audience. Additionally, he was the first tabla player to hybridize Indian classical music with western music - which has got him world wide fame.

I would say, Zakir, Tari, Anindo and Swapan jee are all equal with different style..Tafo khan is not techically correct compared to other..

amazing, superb, outstanding, fantastic, mind blowing. u know this people spend their whole lives learning the real music and these kind of instruments? and i didn't know about him until i was 11 years old. and people who just learned music for 5 to 10 years are so famous.
