my favorite thing about Caravan is that there are so many ways to play it. Wynton Marsalis Standard time has a great funky version.

I first heard "Caravan" by a jazz band - the drum solo lasted over ten minutes, before the other musicians returned and then they wandered off as the drummer began again for another ten! Superb tune when you hear it 'live'.
