You're right, after all, there's nothing like giving people tours of volcanoes. True helicopter pilots are in the U.S Army (hate to say it), Marine Corps., Navy and especially our Coast Guard. Private helicopter operations, well, that's boring and rather mundane flying.

It is all about building up *their* hours, and regional carrier work isn't the only way to do that. There's also military aviation, especially those awesome reserve slots in the Air National Guard. Regional flying would suck big time, you're basically a number in a sea of other under-experienced pilots, making very little and working long hours and dealing with the horrors of airports. If I had to fly regionally, I'd go up to Alaska and fly with Penn Air or a similar operation.

its all about building up there hours... most major airline pilots have flown for smaller regional airlines to build up enough hours to fly for major airlines. and this is easier when u get paid, however little pay there is, then to have to rent an airplane... its also more anout the love of flying then the money

These pilots get paid MUCH more than this. They may only get paid this much for the FIRST YEAR...

And if you complained about making $20,000 a year they would just hire a pilot with more experience who was willing to work for $15,000. The problem isn't the airlines; its too many pilots. Too many people are willing to spend their lives trying to get airline jobs.

Nothing is wrong. When you have a long line of experienced pilots who are fighting for a few jobs and willing to work for almost nothing; only an idiot company would offer them more.

Well a lot of it has to do with corporate greed thousands of pilots can be on the street and the company can be in the red and the execs still take their 30million dollar bonuses. I wish I had never got into it I'm unemployed and I'm trying to get back in only because I have $120,000 in debt from training and a degree.

Thats really sickening what the hell is wrong with these airline companies
mcgra8bc (January 1, 1970 at 7:29 am)
Fuck you and that attitude thats why most of us are in this mess

Trust me its true I was making $20,000 a year at American Eagle and I had the privilege of not having a weekend or a holiday off for 8 years |
