you should make sure that your bios is not forcing a different speed, so load default settings then install your new chip. you should be good from there

Hey, I just got a 9950 Black Edition to switch out my dual core 6000 for.Can I just remove heat sink and switch them or do I also need to make changes in bios or cmos? Please help.Thanks!!

Shoulda left the water cooling just change the tubing color and you could have used the tank as a fusalge

'Support'? A power supple does not 'support' any processors. It'll run it or it won't, and if it can run an X2, it can run Phenom.
