From my understanding Andy McNab (ex-SAS - Bravo Two Zero Patrol in the first Gulf War - What a story!)was used as the millitary consultant in this firefight by Michael Mann.Apparently McNab saw De Niro as a natural in that arena!! Nice to see Hollywood use people who can do the business, gives us a far better film. Firepower, speed and aggression = quality
