There are actual specially-made clamps that are sold for the weights that do this. That's what the little hole on the weight is for - the pin on the clamp. These weights aren't designed to be used on the outside.

I was watching your cello rondo. you do realize that the the little weight to eliminate wolf tones goes on the INSIDE of your cello, not the outside, right? you put it on the outside.
