morituri - "stop bugging us" reminds me of a story, woman calls the police saying that there is a naked man across the street in the other apartment building that she can see and she wants it to stop. Police come to her apartment and say "we can't see anything". She replies you can if you stand on this chair and lean a bit to the right. If you feel you are being bugged, morituri, dont stand on the chair and lean to the right. That's an analogy. Do you need me to spell out what I am really saying

Gents, While convection is not the mechanism of crustal movement and compressive subduction, the mechanism is GRAVITY. OverlordShamala- Magma is hottest under the crust. The bottom of the pot, is the earth's outer core. 1,800 miles down. The silicate mantle is a poor transmitter of heat. Gases are a good transmitter. Heated gases, rise up through the silicate lattices of the mantle, retaining their heat. These super-heated gases are trapped under the crust, and melt the rock (magma), there. The heat does not go down. It is only released through the rifts or volcanoes. It doesn't go down. There is no CONVECTION.
