Exactly, it's appealing to the widest audience. As for Crouching Tiger... I think the music was pivotal, not only in Crouching Tiger... :-D Just enjoy it for what it is. Fantasy!

why are people bitching about this movie? its a family film, anyone can watch it of any age. its meant to be an adventure film like the good old days, who cares if its got a white kid in the film. i couldn't care less, jet li, jackie chan and the villain (not sure of his name) 3 great martial artists into one, yes the fights were toned down but because of its story and rating.

If this movie came out 15 years earlier it would have been friggin epic and a must see for all movie fighting fans. Unfortunately both actors were well past their prime when this was made 2007, so the luster was gone.

Why? Because they wanted to make MONEY. They hired ACTORS that people would actually pay money to see ACT. If there were a market for Disney to cast blue people, and you pay money to see it, you would see nothing but blue people movies.

It's ok to put a white guy here, but the white guy is too weak. u can't learn Kongfu in only several days. It's reasonable to make someone pass his power to the white guy,so that the white guy can learn Kungfu in several days.
