The greatest winner in all of sports, sure there is the Jordans, the Magics, but back then less teams which means more depth on each team. That is not saying Jordan, and Magic, etc were not greats, but Russell is the winner all winners are judged by.

oh wow. You cant back up your argument so you revert to insults. real mature.why do you have oscar robertson on here then?Dr J? Wilt? Kareem? Those were players of the 60s/70s.And did you not watch the video? Were you spacing out during the time it was playing or something? Where do you think people like Olajuwon learned how to block shots from? Russel would dominate Olajuwon if they played in the same era.

Wilt always had talanted teams. He was never able to make the most of it, however, until he got to los angeles with jerry west. And he did not win until the boston celtics coach red auerbach stepped down from coaching and let bill russel coach a year or two.

offense wasnt his game. it wasnt his plan nor red auerbachs plan during games.defense was his speciality. his incentive was to stop the opponent. if he himself scored thats great. but it wasnt the goal.Wilt was a better basketball player than russel. Wilt usually had higher scores higher stats. But it was just that. Wilt was a stat player. Russell was a winner. Russel was part of a team.

So? Being the first doesn't make him the greatest, you obviously don't know basketball at all. Think some before you write your bs.

First of all his name is Hakeem and not Hakeen...And you can't be in the top-10 when you can't play defense, in that case Mutombo should be in the top-10 because he is sickly good on defense...

Pistol Pete was one of the best players offensively. I understand he's never won, or couldnt play defense, but he was insanely good offensivelyThe guys you listed Hakeen and Shaq are centers. No way can Pete compare. Dr J is a small forward. Where do you think most guards today learned their tricks?Kobe Bryant used to ask specifically for Pete Maravich movies to study. He liked him more than most other old fashioned players. |
