We never truly had capitalism? well maybe not if we did we would be a third world country like Haiti. No public schools, libraries nothing. And I find it very funny that the US automakers are now going bankrupt because they say they cant compete with European automakers who thanks to universal health care dont have the burden of paying for their workers benefits like we do. So I guess capitalism is not so great for the economy after all.

The first step to producing goods is lowering the losses of making those goods. Strengthen the dollar by upping interest rates so our money is more powerful will lead to increase spending and net gains for businesses. The Fed opposes this because it will reduce the volume of stocks. Talk about catering for the 1%.

You can't "just let people spend again". First, you have to produce and export goods, then you will be able to start consuming again with the earnings from this export.

The Ponzi Scheme has always worshipped at the washed feet of legal and illegal immigration. They pretend to abhor illegal but that's just for show as conservatives"PONZI = Dems + Repubs.

Capitalism is a Ponzi Scheme; it must have 3.5 kids per family just to break even (more houses, furniture, appliances, baby clothing and all the other junk we consume.Corporatists hate abortion, not because they are pro-life, but but because they see it as a potential dagger thru the heart of their 400-year reign-of-maximized-profits.

Well first off you can look up Resource-Based Economy, then cause that's a bit crazy utopian you can look up Parecon, and then you can end your day with some Permaculture. I personally support Parecon. So there are just off the top of my head not 1 but 3 systems that would be a marked improvement over capitalism, and there are even more out there if you look alittle.

Capitalism in itself is flawed, but we never fully had capitalism. Is it the best economic model that we have, yes it is. Also, it depends on what capitalism means for you. Finally, what are you suggesting as a replacement?
McOath (January 1, 1970 at 7:29 am)
That really doesn't answer my question, which was rhetorical if anything. I'm actually suggesting that even theoretical capitalism is deeply flawed and un desirablel for human beings as a mode of production. |
