ApHC World Champion Freestyle Reining 2006

Amy Stoll, age 17, became the youngest person to ever to win the World Championship in Freestyle Reining at the Appaloosa World Show in Ft. Worth, Texas on Saturday, November 4, 2006. Amy rode her five-year-old reining horse, an Appaloosa mare named Santa Fe Fritz Olena or 'Fritzi'. Amy's win is especially noteworthy because not only must all competitors qualify to compete at the world level by earning points throughout the competition season, but most of the riders competing at that level are adult professional horse trainers, all of whom were bested by this Idaho teenager. Amy and Fritzi competed to the theme song from Chronicles of Narnia and where dressed as the key villian from the movie...the White Witch. Amy also finished in the Top Ten at the Appaloosa World Show in Junior Horse Reining. Born and raised in Sun Valley, Idaho, the former Wood River High School student is currently a sophomore at College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls where she competes on the CSI Equestrian Team and is currently top point earner as AQHA rider in intercollegiate regional competition. Amy has only been Reining for two years, and has just started competeing in the other events, such as Western and English Pleasure, Equitation, Showmanship, Saddle Seat and Western Riding. Look for Amy and her 5 year old mare,Santa Fe Fritz Olena, along with her new Western Pleasure 3year old, Unsurpassible, and her new English 5year old English horse, Truly An Example. So look for this team of four in the up and coming Appaloosa Youth World, National, and World shows. As of right now, Amy trains with Curt Fuller of Fuller Training Stables in Twin Falls, Idaho.
