I agree, in thge 60's and the first part of the 70's you could turn on a top 40 station and hear everything from this song to Johnny Cash to the Beatles to Simon and Garfunkel to Glen Campbell to Cream - all mixed and mashed together. Last time I listened to radio like that, was in Paris in the early 90's.

You're speaking of WDUV, it's know as the dove because the call letters are similar to dove. Actually it had a sister station called WGUL, the gull. WGUL is an AM station, and they had a much better assortment of older music, like Sinatra, and many more.WGUL is now a conservative channel, this happened in 2005. I believe that some former on-air talent from WGUL have an online radio station that still plays what WGUL use to play. |
