merrylunatic, words means something, and out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. The Bible is very clear that we must weigh our every word. Our love for the Lord demands that. Jesus makes it very clear that we will give an account for every idol word that we speak. Your words do matter and if we love the Lord, our words will reflect that.

Here in Canada, I can see a doctor for free. In BC, since I earn a certain amount, I pay a modest fee into the BC healthcare system. Universal single-tier health care is not only a Canadian institution, but also the most efficient and ethical system of health care available to us. A two-tier healthcare system raises the danger of an unethical gap in basic human rights between the rich and the poor. Instead of changing the system, petition your gov't to support it more. (Yes, I do vote NDP). :P

It IS amazing that an evangelical Christian can actually think for herself in such a coherent and intelligent way. I agree with everything she says. The more I think about it the more I think she can't be an evangelical at all. Much too thoughtful.
