I think the best part of this all was the response by the Chief and the response to his comments regarding Native cultures being vital to Canadian life was received very positively and I don`t believe that the response from the House was fake.Of course all these are just first steps. People must continue to work and struggle from here. Nonetheless, I hope that the non-Aboriginal population can be of assistance in the future now that, what I believe to be, the truth is finally coming to light.

That apology is better than I was led to believe. I think it is a very important first step and I'm glad it happened.It's strange to think that one can deny the previous existence of Residential Schools, when there is so much evidence to suggest otherwise. This is very confusing to me. I do suppose that there are those who would deny the Holocaust as well, despite photographic and eyewitness testimony strongly suggesting otherwise.

i'm sorry but do you even know when the last residential school was closed in canada?well obvisiously not, because the last one was actually closed in 1998. Before you start making rude, mean, ignorant comments i advise you to educate yourself before making a negative assumption.
