"Styles changed so quickly back then..In particular the late 70's to mid 80's". I'm an '82 HS midwestern grad. Things didn't change quickly for us, but I found out later that punk was HUGE on the coasts. MTV changed things quickly, as it was an uncontrolled new medium. Today, the internet has circulated small time bands, and old time road bands. I'm in Detroit & seeing the Reverend Horton Heat @ the majestic. Look 'em up on youtube!as REM said "Radio Free Europe!"& check out the Ghetto Billies

Amazing how music and styles changed so quickly back then. In particular the late 70's compared to the mid 80's. You can see these incremental changes from the 50's till the turn of the century. You haven't seen those type of changes this decade. Probably b/c there is no real media broadcast of music. Back then you had radio, and then TV. Now there is nothing b/c the internet killed these old mediums of pop culture transfer. The internet is to complex to transfer a dominating source.
