For me, the lyrics mean that we keep getting stuck in the same everyday cycle of shit, and compares that to flies in a jar of Vaseline. You can't escape.They split up because Scott is a heroin addict and it was a problem for the rest of the band. Like gohyperstrike said, they are back together, and actually still sound amazing live -- saw them over the summer.
