well, there is some truth to what you say. At the same time, I must say that it's not a common occurrence that people are "bragging" about how they are related to a Composer of symphonies. I mean, how much of the general population do you think even know who Mahler is?

im michael jacksons son. and my great grandfather was mozart.pretty funny how everybody is related to people. im not hsure if i can believe the 2 of you but i dont care^^ if you are related to him that, what do you say... congratulations? i dont know. if not i dont care. great GREAT MUSIC!!

hey to u all, just thaught id come say that im related to mahler:) im luky enough to get his last name too(my dad, his dad and his dad all got the first name aswell tho:( ) also yeh mahler has a HUGE family (im lucky to be a direct relative hehe) most live in the US, i live in the UK some live in the carribean(whr im from) and a few are still in europe, anyway cya later

I agree, and Abbado has definitely spent a lot of time teaching youth orchestras. Now, is there a particular recording that you have in mind?

It's amazing the power that youth can bring into a song... I have hear the same movement played by a young Orchestra from Venezuela, and you can feel the diference... Even if this one is great, their interpretation is charged with so much more energy...

it's not my facebook. i don't have a facebook...or myspace...or anything. just a youtube account. yeah mahler did have a lot of family members. when i've searched him there was like 20 pages of extended families. and those were just the families that allowed anything to be written about them! I guess my grandfather wanted to keep our family private, cause we're not on the internet when you reaserch mahler's family.
